Rijeka faces near-impossible task
HNK Rijeka, after two missed chances against Midtjylland, finds itself in a very demanding situation. The Football Meets Data analytics page estimated that Rijeka has only a 10% chance of advancing to the league phase. Although the Croatian club is not at the bottom of the projection, five teams have fewer chances of advancing than Rijeka. The statistics leave some room for potential surprises at Rujevici.
Hajduk still has real chances
Hajduk, at Poljud, lost the lead against Raków and ended with a 2-2 draw. After this result, the chances of advancing are estimated at 57%, while the split teams are at 43%. The late goal by Raków further complicated the situation as Hajduk had the lead practically until the last seconds. Although both Croatian clubs will enter the reverse match as paper underdogs, we believe that at least one of these two clubs will watch the group phase of the Champions League.
Freiburg as the top favorite
Freiburg, the Germans, defeated Motherwell 3-1 on away ground and their chances of advancing are given at 99%. This team has made the biggest step towards the league phase, while other teams are in an incorrect position.
