HNK Rijeka is in advanced talks to sell a 25% stake to Black Knight Football Club, owned by American billionaire Bill Foley. This would be the sixth addition to Foley’s multi-club group, which already includes Bournemouth, Lorient, Auckland FC, Hibernian and Moreirense.

What is happening?

Black Knight, which acquired Bournemouth in 2022, is now in talks to invest in HNK Rijeka. This will give the group access to one of Croatia’s most successful clubs, with two league titles and seven cups in the last two decades.

Why it matters for HNK Rijeka

Rijeka will gain access to Black Knight’s global network of analysts and scouts, as well as financial backing. Foley has already started infrastructure improvements at all his clubs.

What comes next?

The deal will leave current owner Damir Miskovic in control of the club he saved from financial collapse in 2012. Rijeka, who finished 4th in the 2025 HNL season with 41 points (11W-8D-10L) from 29 games, will get a chance for development.
